Weird stuff at UCSD surplus

Even by my standards!

First off, the scary sphere:

Check out the plate details:

Yep, that says ‘North American Aviation, Missile Division.’ I have no idea.

Now, if this doesn’t say ‘Death Ray Sci-Fi,’ what does?

(Especially with the blue center and handle, tres cool.)

Last but not least:

Well, maybe it is least, we used to use these in our labs to watch temp and humidity. Min bid $50, ouch.

Anyway, you can browse their catalog online, kinda cool.

Oh what great fun! They certainly are a great deal pricey on their used and very obsolete gear. I had a Dean give me a computer exactly like item #64, it was the first one the college issued him way back and he very seriously wanted to make sure we retrieved his data. He was the kind of guy who kept a paper copy of every e-mail he sent and received. My boss instructed me to toss it in the garbage which I did.

    K.

    Hello,

I wanted to put my name in the hat for the Omega X-33 watches if you find enough guys to buy them. I would like to buy 2-3 for my dad, my best friend and me.

Also, can you tell me where I can find out how to buy that North American Aviation tank ? I went on the auction site, but couldn’t find it and I’d love it for my collection of space stuff.

    Thanks, Ray 714-625-7326
