So I managed to scrape together funds at work to replace my laptop with a new MacBook. More on the machine later, but in reinstalling Fink I got this dialog box at the end of the install:

Somehow, I can’t see that in commercial source. Recognizing that a) I had changed my login shell from the default, and b) that this implied knowing how to load Fink is lovely attention to detail. Bravo! And bravo for not assuming that I’m an idiot.
